Pioneer Day 2022: Celebrating the Pioneering Spirit of All Peoples in the Upper Skeena, will be held on Saturday, August 13th.

PARADE - Pioneer day will commence with a parade and kick-off at noon. Show up early to get a good spot. Parking in the downtown will be limited. For those wishing to enter the parade, contact the Village of Hazelton office. Priority parking for seniors will be available.

5/10K WALK/RUN - Power walkers and runners can sign up for this event by contacting jraemaitland@gmail.com. Registration will be at 9:30AM, race starts at 10AM.

VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT - Teams of 4 can sign up for the tournament by contacting Danielle at dm8@ualberta.ca. Starts at 10:00 AM on Pioneer Day in the field between GWES and the Gitanmaax Band office.

3 on 3 BASKETBALL - Teams of 3 can sign up by emailing Taylor at t_murrell@outlook.com. Games will begin at 2:00 PM at the basketball court at the end of Field Street.

DANCE - Strikers will be hosting a dance on Pioneer Day From 9:00PM to 2:00AM. There will be a $10 fee, and there are limited spots. The dance will be at Gitanmaax Hall.

HORSE-DRAWN CARRIAGE RIDES - B&T Rides will be at Pioneer Day! There is no cost, but riders will be required to sign a waiver. Rides will be available immediately following the parade until 4:00PM.

KIDS EVENTS - A bouncy castle, face painting, and other fun activities will be available for the kids in Polly Sargent Park from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM

VENDORS WANTED: If you would like to sign up as a vendor, please fill out THIS FORM and submit it to info@hazelton.ca. A $30 fee for food vendors or a $20 fee for others will be required to reserve your spot which can be paid by cash, cheque, or debit card.

SEEKING PARADE ENTRIES: If you would like to enter a float in the parade, please email info@hazelton.ca and indicate what kind of vehicle and float you will be entering. There will be $$$ Prizes for the best floats!
