Bastion & Polly Sargent Parks

These two parks is located along Government street and lie on the bank of the beautiful Bulkley River. Bastion Park hosts the Cenotaph, and a sloping lawn that leads up to the boardwalk on the dike.

Polly Sargent Park features the Riverboat Building (which acts as the Village's Council Chambers), artefacts of Hazelton's industrial past, and a pier overlooking the river.

The area is great for a picnic on the lawn or benches. It even provides ample wildlife viewing opportunities as eagles and occasionally even bears can be seen fishing on the for shore of the river.

The Village has begun a plan to consider options for the future of Bastion Park.

You can view the conceptual plan here.

The plan is just the beginning of reimagining the park. Improvements will be subject to grant funding.
