Deputy Corporate Officer
The Village of Hazelton has an opening for a Deputy Corporate Officer. This is a full-time exempt position. Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer the position will be responsible for:
- Front line reception services, including responding to enquiries via walk-ins, telephone and email;
- Preparation of Council and Committee meetings agendas and minutes;
- Carries out all record management functions for the municipality including receiving, sorting, date stamping, coding, distributing, and filing of all incoming and outgoing mail;
- Draft correspondence including reports to Council, memorandums, letters, forms, news releases, advertisements, etc.;
- Maintains and updates municipal website, public display bulletin boards, and municipal events calendar and schedules;
- Coordinates annual Pioneer Day event, Remembrance Day, Christmas in Hazelton and Christmas Party;
- Keeps the municipal office in good order by keeping materials and office supplies stocked as needed for general office operations, and overseeing contractors for the general cleaning and maintenance of the office;
- Maintains and tracks educational requirements for all public works employees and coordinates registration, accommodation and travel;
- Prepares grants and reporting for grants related to the Administration department;
The preferred candidate will possess the ability to work quickly and effectively with limited supervision; the ability and judgment to recognize when to seek input or direction from a superior; the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of internal and external contacts; and the ability to organize a workload effectively.
Position Status: Exempt
Rate of Pay: Salary- $45,000-$55,000
