About the Position:
The Village of Hazelton has an opening (starting Monday, June 12th) for a MAINTENANCE/ UTILITIY WORKER I this is a full-time permanent position. This position works an 8 hour day (40 hours per week) Monday to Friday, but will be required to be on call or work occasionally outside of regular hours as operationally required.
Under the direction of the Foreman, duties include but are not limited to garbage collection, grounds maintenance, assisting with repair and replacement of Village facilities such as the sanitary and storm sewer system, water system, streets, sidewalks, and the maintenance of Village owned and operated buildings, facilities and structures and other related duties.
Applicants must have completed grade 12 and hold a valid Class 5 BC Drivers License, must be able to physically perform the required duties and have a demonstrated ability to operate small equipment. Further education is required and will be provided by the Village. Experience with operating a skid-steer is a benefit. The successful applicant will have good interpersonal communication skills and experience working effectively as a part of a small team.
This position is part of the Collective Agreement, and the rate for this position is $29.02 per hour and includes benefits. For a detailed job description, contact the Village Office at info@hazelton.ca.
